Hindy Weber Tantoco first made a splash as the the exclusive in-house designer for the young adults division of the Rustan’s Group in 2000. With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Arts from the Ateneo de Manila University in Quezon City and an Associate’s degree in Fashion Marketing and Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City, Hindy quickly became known as a thoroughly hands-on designer, involving herself in almost every aspect of the design, production, and marketing process. Some of the brands which became widely popular under her helm include ‘U’ for young adults and ‘Culte Femme’ for women.

Today, Hindy keeps herself busy on their little house on the farm, launching such groundbreaking ventures as Holy Carabao Holistic Farms, one of the most-trusted organic and biodynamic food retailers in Manila; Balik Bukid, the country’s best country fair; and The Fun Farm in Sta. Elena. Of course, she still has her hands on fashion, focusing on made-to-measure formal and bridal wear and launching special collections once a year.

Jacqe Yuengtian-Gutierrez, who spearheaded developing global brands under Unilever, wanted to be in a business that made women happy. “I remember how I always felt giddy when I got to talk to consumers, and they would tell me how a beauty product could made them feel confident, more beautiful, and more in control of their lives,” she says.

And so together with top runway and print model Rissa Mananquil-Trillo, Jacqe created Happy Skin, the first makeup line offering an entire range of skin-caring makeup for women who want to look naturally beautiful.

Happy Skin was first launched in five counters last October 2013. Less than a month after, luxury department store Rustan’s and leading cosmetics hub Beauty Bar were already interested in carrying Happy Skin in their stores. Today, Happy Skin may be found in 50 counters across the Philippines.

At the 3rd Mompreneur Summit, Janice Villanueva, founder of Mommy Mundo and Mompreneur Manila, will also be sharing interesting facts about the Filipino mompreneur today.
