One of the top questions we hear from mompreneurs is “How do I market my business more?”
Here are three tactics for you to ponder on this new year.
#1 Determine your audience
To attract attention, you need to explain to your audience who you are and what you are all about. This turns interest into attention.
But how do you get an audience in the first place? Business consultant Sajit Gupta, also known as the Creator Whisperer, enumerates three top advice.
- Determine your target market. Once you determine your niche, your mission is to learn everything that you can about them.
- Research the top books in your niche market. Read top reviews about these books because they’ll usually contain what your niche market thinks is missing.
- Do a market diagnosis and talk with, rather than talk to, your audience directly. One on one talks with prospect clients can give you lots of insight about how to improve your marketing strategies.
#2 Uncover your message
Think of 3 specific people who fall under your target audience and try to answer the following questions:
- What keeps them awake at night? What are they afraid of? What are they angry about? Who are they angry at? What are their top 3 daily frustrations?
- What trends are occurring and will occur in their business or lives?
- Do they have their own language?
- What do they secretly, ardently desire the most?
- Who else has tried selling them something similar and how has the effort failed?
Use these answers to help you deliver more relevant messages to your prospect clients.
#3 Aim for conversion and referrals
You’ve received attention, now what? While crafting your marketing strategy, be sure to write clear and concise tactics to turn your audience’s interest into sales. Communicate your product or business’ benefits. Make it short and sweet, assuming that people don’t read and listen for a long time. Then make it easy for them to inquire and purchase your product.
Put in effort to transform your clients into fans who will give referrals. Did you know that, according to information and data firm Nielsen, people are 4 times more likely to buy a product when it is referred to by a friend? In fact, 92% of their respondents of Nielsen’s study, trust the referrals of the people they knew.
How about incentivizing referrals? Give your customers a reason to act through discounts and freebies. Not only will you get more sales, you’ll have loyal clients who will vouch for you and continue to give you business.
