Mutya Laxa Buensuceso has the best of both worlds.
As the country manager of Luxasia Philippines, her weekdays are filled with one meeting after another as she is responsible for the growth and development of some of the most coveted brands in the beauty business. In between, she squeezes in work for Spinkie, an online boutique specializing in baby essentials.
As the mom of Mayumi and Malaya and wife of artist Jinggoy Buensuceso, she gets to enjoy the country life at their home in Alfonso, Cavite on weekends. There, she reads stories to her children, takes care of their vegetable garden, and goes on quick trips to nearby farms.
By striking a balance between her home life and her career life, Mutya has made for herself and her family a beautiful life.
Mary Rose Fres Fausto graduated with honors from the Ateneo de Manila University in 1985, with a degree in A.B. Economics. She started her career as a credit analyst at Far East Bank & Trust Company. Later on, she moved to the world of corporate finance working for some of the top investment houses in the ‘90s such as FEB Investments, Inc. and All Asia Capital & Trust Corporation. She was also a financial consultant to a USAID project on renewable energy from 1995 to 2000.
Married to Marvin, founding president of the Fund Managers Association of the Philippines (FMAP), Rose eventually decided to be a full-time homemaker. Mom to Marty, Enrique, and Anton, Rose believes that raising their children well is the greatest contribution parents can give to the country and the best service they can offer to God.
Rose is an advocate of Financial Literacy. She not only conducts workshops and seminars to help increase the FQ of Filipinos, she is a columnist at PhilStar.com and maintains two websites, RaisingPinoyBoys.com and FQMom.com. She recently won the grand prize of the #SINAG Financial Literacy Digital Journalism Award for her online features.
