One of things to look forward to at the 4th Mompreneur Summit is a front-row seat to expert-lead talks and learning sessions. Amongst the powerhouse of speakers is Chal Lontoc Del Rosario, General Manager of Jeron Travel, the 2019 country winner for ASEAN BAC on SME Excellence, and Employee Growth.
Chal is a host, model, and mompreneur who has been honored as a “Young Ambassador for Women Empowerment” under edukasyon.ph and “Investing in Young Women” by the Australian Embassy. During the Mompreneur Summit, she’ll be sharing how to incorporate play into work is an effective way to foster fresh ideas and creative executions.
Let’s get to know Chal with a quick-fire interview on her experience in mompreneurship:
How long have you been a mompreneur?
I’ve been a mom for 14yrs and I’ve been an entrepreneur almost the entirety of my motherhood journey.
What were your top three motivations for starting your own business?
My current business was started by my mom and I took over after she passed away. It was like starting from scratch because of all the challenges that happened. I’ve always had an entrepreneurial mindset, creating and starting several businesses and projects here and there. Entrepreneurship itself is what I’m attracted too. I find the world of business truly interesting, sexy, and fun. Freedom is one of my greatest motivator. I’m able to create choices, choose what I feel is right, earn my keep if I work hard, and own my time even if things can get busy. When we’re able to create memories for people and be part of the reason for them to exercise their freedom to explore and experience life through travel, I’m motivated by that too!
What are you most excited about for the upcoming Mompreneur Summit?
I’ve had wonderful results using essential skills and applying it to my business. Things like”cross-pollination” and “applied improvisation” to be able to create ideas that bring better products, process, and solutions for any mompreneur are what I’ll be sharing about. This is not your typical talk -I promise you! As an idea generator, I’m excited for mompreneurs to incorporate new and different things in their lives and businesses. This is truly something unique, very effective, and fun!
What can we look forward to during your talk at the Mompreneur Summit?
I promise that it will be interactive and fun! After all, the best way we are able to learn is thru play and when we’re having a good time, just like with how our kids learn! You can definitely expect to learn about idea generation you probably never even heard of to bring about effective results for your businesses. Bonus part is that the essential skills I’ll be sharing can also be applied to your marriage and motherhood journey! If what I’m saying here interests you, then I hope momprenuers can follow their curiosity and listen in on July 23.
What is your top tip to succeed as a mompreneur?
Get up, dress up, and show up. I don’t think there’s a real sane formula for us to live that ever elusive balanced life as mom and entrepreneurs, but when we show up, the universe sees and feels that, and somehow it works for the better. Also, we can’t do it alone. Whether it’s your yaya, your husband, your family, your friends, or community, we all need help. Ain’t no shame in that! Together is always better.
